The hard bit...committing to the toughest foot race on earth

I've been looking for an adventure. Coming back from work to watch documentaries or listen to podcasts from modern day adventurers and endurance athletes like Sean Conway, James Cracknell or Ben Fogle made my day to day life seem a little confined. I have always had a fascination with testing the limit of human endurance, as much about what the body is capable of as what the mind allows the body to achieve. I've done triathlons, and played plenty of rugby and other sports so I have only really touched the surface of what it's like for your body to start saying no. I am a firm believer that you only find out new things about yourself when you push yourself past your limits, and the boys that are coming together to run this race share this view and together we are going to find out what we are capable of individually and as a team.

So we sent a few emails to some worthy causes that we would have been proud to represent, and there was one charity that stood out above all others and that was Walk Once More. The team there were incredibly passionate about their cause and their vision for a future without chronic spinal injury and, equally as important for us, they were very excited about having the four of us on board. In all honesty it all moved rather too quickly to back out... so here we are, two weeks after the idea was first born, committed to running the 2016 MdS.
